The Entrance Trellis

The trellis provides shade in the day and fragrance at night for The Portal, as we call it.

We built it ourselves largely, Garfield and Chris, all the iron work, welding, rust proofing and paint. Then of course we carefully selected all the vines, planted them is large pots with compost that we create here with our kitchen waste.

There are Rangoon Creeper or Chinese Honeysuckle vines that produce a beautiful scent but only at night. Butterfly pea flower vines, and several othyer varieties that the Chef uses in her cuisine. They attract lots of pollinators and feed our bees so we dont use any pesticides anywhere on our property.
